Regulations containing the amendments made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) regarding the support of Transformation to Turkish Lira Deposits and Participation Accounts and the support of Transformation from Gold Accounts to Turkish Lira Deposits and Participation Accounts were published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, within the scope of the Foreign Currency Indexed Deposit Account, domestic resident individuals can convert their existing gold, dollar, euro, and British pound-denominated foreign currency deposit accounts and foreign currency-denominated participation fund accounts into TL as of March 31, 2024.
No updates have been made to the previously determined dates for the conversion of the balances from gold, foreign currency deposit accounts, and participation funds of domestic resident legal entities to TL time deposits or participation accounts.
Conversion transactions will be carried out upon the request of account holders and based on the conversion rate.
