“Our export infrastructure is extremely good”

Kemal Kacmaz, Deputy Chairman of the National Citrus Council, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that citrus fruits produced in Turkiye are preferred by many countries.

Expressing that Russia, Ukraine, Iraq, Poland and Romania are traditional markets for citrus, Kacmaz said that they export the most to Russia.

Kacmaz stated that the geographical proximity of the two countries reflected positively on exports and said:

“Our export infrastructure is extremely good. We do not have any problems with packaging and quality. Both our producers and exporters can produce and package products at world standards. We have all kinds of equipment. We do not have any problems in this respect. Russia is both our neighbor and the country we have been exporting to for years. Our export infrastructure to this country is extremely convenient. We do not have any problems with transportation, we deliver the products to this market in a short time. Therefore, Russia ranks first in our exports. We are working on exporting to different countries. We want to increase our exports to Far East countries.”

Kacmaz stated that they want to contribute more to the country’s economy by expanding their traditional market network in the new year.
