$125.9 million worth of Turkish salmon was exported from the Black Sea in 11 months

Turkish salmon export from the Black Sea between January-November 2022 increased by 207% and reached $125 million 858 thousand 348.

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union Supervisory Board Member and Deputy Chairman of the Fisheries Sector Committee Ilker Yildirim said that exports were made to 14 countries in 11 months of the year.

Stating that 17,187 tons of Turkish salmon were exported from the Black Sea during this period, Yildirim said that $125 million 858 thousand 348 were obtained from this export.

Yildirim stated that Turkish salmon exports increased by 124% in quantity and 207% in value compared to the same period of the previous year, which earned $41 million 285 for 7 thousand 681 tons of product.

Noting that Russia leads the way in the export of Turkish salmon from the Black Sea, Yildirim said, “Turkish salmon was sold to Russia for $86 million 896 thousand 177 this period. Russia is followed by Vietnam with $21 million 626 thousand 31 and Japan with $5 million 688 thousand 583.”

Stating that $102 million 851 thousand 77 of this export was made from the Eastern Black Sea region, Yildirim said that Turkish salmon was sold to 11 countries, especially Russia, Vietnam and the People’s Republic of China.

Pointing out that the recognition of Turkish salmon in foreign markets is gradually increasing, Yildirim said, “We believe that we will complete the year above our expectations in Turkish salmon exports. We plan to increase our exports exponentially in the coming years.”
