Turkish Minister of Agriculture: We talked about poultry meat and egg exports with Saudi Arabia

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli stated that, within the scope of their contacts with Saudi Arabia, they discussed the issues regarding the export of poultry meat, eggs and aquatic products in which Turkiye has a say.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, Minister Yumakli made contacts in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, where he went for an official visit, and held meetings between the delegations.

Yumakli, who met with Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia and signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture with his counterpart, also met with Fahd bin Abdurrahman al-Celacil, Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Food and Drug Authority.

Minister Yumakli, whose views were included in the statement, stated that agricultural diplomacy has gained more importance in international relations, and that during his recent foreign visits, he made contacts to improve cooperation in this field.

Pointing out that his visit to Saudi Arabia is of great importance in this respect, Yumakli said, “In the memorandum of understanding we signed here, we signed a series of cooperations such as organic agriculture, aquaculture and adaptation to climate change. Within the scope of our contacts, we discussed the issues regarding the export of poultry meat, eggs and seafood to Saudi Arabia, in which we have a say. We talked about what could be done to speed up the processes here, and we reached a certain agreement.”

Yumakli stated that these agreements will pave the way for Turkish agricultural products to find the place they deserve in this market.
