‘Digital advertising’ in the new age advertising; training will be provided by Istanbul Chamber

450 people will be trained for 6 months within the scope of the project “Evolution from Traditional Advertising to Digital Advertising” project realized in cooperation with the International Digital Entrepreneurship Association and Union of Chamber of Istanbul Advertisers.

The International Digital Entrepreneurship Association and Union of Chamber of Istanbul Advertisers implemented the project “Evolution from Traditional Advertising to Digital Advertising: A Story of Social Entrepreneurship” within the scope of the 2020 social entrepreneurship-themed support program of the Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Civil Society Relations.

Within the scope of the project, 300 tradesmen affiliated with the Union of Chamber of Istanbul Advertisers and Artisans and a group of 150 people consisting of youth, refugees, and disabled people will be given trainings such as copywriting, product photography, and social media management.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Faik Yilmaz, president of the Union of Chamber of Istanbul Merchants and Craftsmen, said that they support all kinds of work that will benefit the tradesmen.

Gulay Sele, the President of the Chamber of Istanbul Advertisers, said that the courses will be given online.

Pointing out that the brand of the tradesman should allocate a serious budget for advertising and marketing activities, Sele said, “Thanks to this training, our tradesmen will open their products and brands to the digital world through social media without the need for an agency.”

Emphasizing that the objectives of the project are to increase employment and ensure that the tradesmen do not fall behind in developing technology, Sele stated that those who wish can apply to the project through the websites.

International Digital Entrepreneurship Association Academy Certificate

Emre Ozcan, General Secretary of the International Digital Entrepreneurship Association, said that they implemented the project with the support of the Union of Chamber of Istanbul Tradesmen and Craftsmen, the Istanbul Chamber of Advertisers, and the Ministry of Interior.

Emphasizing that the project provided an opportunity for participants to explain how digital advertising has become a source of income, Ozcan said:

“The trainings will start on 28 December. There will be a 3-month training period until 18 March. There will be one more training from 18 March to 21 June. There will be a 6-month training period in total. There will be 2 different groups in the trainings. We aim to train as many people as possible. We also included tradesmen and disadvantaged groups in this project. By disadvantaged groups, we mean disabled people, asylum seekers, groups that can neither take part in education nor work. By including them in this project, we are trying to make them a professional and provide them an opportunity to add an extra qualified job skill to their career.”

Underlining that the project aims to provide employment for the disabled and teaching them the rules and techniques of the new generation of advertising, Ozcan noted that the participants will also be trained on product photography with professional cameras and mobile phones.

Ozcan added that the participants who are successful at the end of the training will be awarded the International Digital Entrepreneurship Association Academy Certificate.
