More than $2 million of honey was exported from the Eastern Black Sea in 2022

In 2022, $2 million 65 thousand worth of honey was exported from the Eastern Black Sea Region.

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union Deputy Chairman of the Board Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan told Anadolu Agency (AA) that 852 tons of honey was exported to 15 countries from the region last year.

Emphasizing that $2 million 65 thousand were gained from the export of the product in question, Gurdogan noted that the USA, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom are the countries to which honey is sent the most.

Pointing out that the diversity of countries has increased in honey exports, Gurdogan stated that in this context, exports were made to Jordan, Canada and Israel, which were different from the previous year.

Stating that honey is an important export product for the region, Gurdogan said, “Our honey exports continued to increase positively even during the Covid-19 epidemic. We completed the previous year and last year with good figures. This year, we exported honey.”

Gurdogan stated that quality, packaging and branded product development are important in increasing honey exports.
