Cruise Tourism: Turkiye hosted more than 81 thousand passengers in 5 months

Cruise tourism, which remained in place during the epidemic period, has taken action again. The route of the giant ships returned to Turkiye again. In the first 5 months of 2022, more than 81 thousand passengers were hosted. By the end of the year, it is aimed to reach more than 1 million tourists.

Turkiye continues its rise in cruise tourism. The number of ships approaching the shores and the number of passengers is also increasing.

Giant ships preferred Kusadasi

Giant cruise ships preferred Kusadasi Port the most. 68 cruise ships anchored in this port. The second most preferred destination with 26 ships was Istanbul.

In the first 5 months of 2022, 130 giant cruise ships docked, 81 thousand passengers visited Turkiye.

1.5 million tourists expected by the end of the year

Turkiye is also determined to increase its share in the rapidly developing cruise tourism in the world.

More than 670 giant cruise ships are expected to dock at touristic ports in the Aegean this season. Expectations are also high for Galataport Port. It is aimed to host 200 cruise ships by the end of the year.

It is aimed that the number of cruise ships will reach 1,52 by the end of the year and the number of tourists will reach 1.5 million.
