Getir, one of the important players in the fast delivery industry, announced that it will end its services in France. It is alleged that it has decided to terminate its activities due to new regulations in the country.

According to information revealed to Agence France-Presse (AFP), the startup has filed for bankruptcy in France. It was also stated that the equipment and vehicles used here will be sold. Getir’s arch-rival in France, Flink, also decided to leave the country at the beginning of June for the same reasons.

The people of France have been very critical of fast delivery-oriented services lately. The use of such vehicles in Paris, where the use of electric scooters was banned, infuriated the locals. Likewise, the use of such vehicles for fast delivery makes it difficult for companies to create a negative impression in France.

In addition, the French government described the places that Getir and its competitors opened for fast delivery as a warehouse, so these places in the city center were moved out of the city.

CFDT union representative Johann Tchissambou demanded that workers’ wages be guaranteed by September. Getir currently has 1,800 employees in France. It is not yet known what the fate of these employees will be.
