Contract for substructural engine testing for Turkey’s locally made helicopter was signed

The contract has been signed between TEKFEN Engineering and TEI for the substructural testing that will made within Turboşaft Engine Development Project. This project is carried out to meet the Turkey’s first locally manufactured helicopter, Gökbey’s demand for locally manufactured engine.

According to the written statement of TUSAŞ Engine Industry (TEI), due to the need for testing a local manufacturing engine for Gökbey utility helicopter, which is developed by Turkish Aerospace Industry within the scope of Presidency of Defence Industries, a cooperation contract between TEI and TEKFEN was signed at TEI Eskişehir Campus.

Senior managers of two big companies participated to the signing ceremony, alongside with the participation of Mahmut Faruk Akşit, the general manager and board chairman of TEI and Fatih Can, general manager of engineering.

For the test facilities that will be founded according to the contract, TEKFEN Engineering will provide supervisorship to the detailed design of test systems, technical management of supply procedures, assembly, services of test and it’s use.

Thanks to the test substructures that will be founded within the scope of the Turboşaft Engine Development Project; the tests of aero compressor, burner basket and turbine module will be handled with minimum cost and modification. While it is aimed to obtain the aerotermal performance charts of the modules during the module tests, improvements will be provided in the analysis models via checking on the accuracy of design, analysis tools and test results.
