Turkish honey exports earned $30 million

Honey exports from Turkiye in the January-August period increased by 80% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $29 million 982 thousand.

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union, said that honey was sold to 57 countries in 8 months of the year from Turkiye.

Stating that 11 thousand 432 tons of honey was exported in this period, an income of $29 million 982 thousand 111 was obtained, Kalyoncu said that compared to the same period of the previous year, an increase of 130% on amount and 80% on value basis was achieved.

Expressing that the USA, Spain and Germany are the countries with the highest exports, Kalyoncu said, “This period, $11 million 31 thousand 296 to the USA, $4 million 477 thousand 118 to Spain and $4 million 66 thousand 311 to Germany. honey has been sold.” .

Pointing out that the diversity of countries has increased in honey exports, Kalyoncu noted that honey was sold to Slovenia, Peru, Denmark, Lebanon, Yemen, Republic of South Africa, Iraq, Venezuela, Barbados, Mauritania, Liberia, Bangladesh, North Macedonia, Taiwan and Portugal during this period.

Noting that the increase in exports is pleasing, Kalyoncu said, “We have made a good start to honey exports and we believe that we will spend the last 4 months with an increase in exports in this direction. We have high expectations from the end of the year exports.”
