China’s foreign trade rises 10.7% in Q1

Country’s total trade at $1.48T in January-March period

China’s foreign trade volume increased more than 10% during the first three months of 2022,according to official data released on Wednesday.

The country’s total trade rose by 10.7% to 9.42 trillion yuan ($1.48 trillion) in the January-March period of the year, the data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) showed.

While exports surged 13.4% year-on-year to 5.23 trillion yuan, imports rose 7.5% to 4.19 trillion yuan during the period.

This led to a trade surplus of 1.04 trillion yuan, according to GAC data.
