BIST 100 index rises 1.4 points from previous close
Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,480.53 points on Friday, rising 0.1%, or 1.41 points, from the previous close.
At Thursday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 0.34% to 1,479.12 points,with a daily trading volume of 10.9 billion Turkish liras ($1.3 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.3000 as of 09.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 8.2810 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 9.8500 from 9.8120, while one British pound traded for 11.4980 Turkish liras, up from 11.4660.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $73.05 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
Analysts said investors will focus on Turkey’s inflation rate for August domestically. Externally, investors will follow the US unemployment figure due on Friday.
