Turkiye’s oil imports increased by 11.12% in May

Turkiye’s total imports of petroleum and petroleum products increased by 11.12% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 4 million 263 thousand 624 tons. Most imports of crude oil and petroleum products were made from Russia, Iraq and Kazakhstan.

According to the “Petroleum Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for May, the import of crude oil, which constitutes the largest item in Turkiye’s total oil imports, decreased by 17.11% and amounted to 2 million 462 thousand 848 tons.

In this period, the import of diesel types increased by 126.23% and amounted to 1 million 289 thousand 84 tons.

Aviation and marine fuels, gasoline and fuel-oil types and other products constituted the remaining part of the imports.

Thus, total imports increased by 11.12% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and became 4 million 263 thousand 624 tons.

The largest import of crude oil and petroleum products was from Russia with 2 million 301 thousand 973 tons, followed by Iraq with 957 thousand 989 tons and Kazakhstan with 439 thousand 31 tons.

On the other hand, gasoline sales increased by 35.19% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and became 364 thousand 51 tons, diesel sales increased by 16.47% to 2 million 444 thousand 297 tons.

Total petroleum products sales increased by 18.55% and were recorded as 2 million 961 thousand 905 tons.

Exports of petroleum products decreased by 16.51%

While Turkiye’s aviation fuel exports increased by 37.54% to 416 thousand 291 tons in May, maritime fuel exports decreased by 57.43% to 81 thousand 879 tons.

Exports of gasoline types decreased by 81.50% to 47 thousand 733 tons. Diesel types exports increased by 9.05% to 319 thousand 520 tons.

In the oil market, total exports with other products decreased by 16.51% and became 993 thousand 8 tons.

The production of diesel types decreased by 20.44% compared to the same month of the previous year and decreased to 1 million 287 thousand 348 tons, the production of gasoline types decreased by 29.48% to 374 thousand 462 tons, and the production of aviation fuels decreased by 2.59% to 469 thousand 220 tons.

Marine fuel production decreased by 42.57% and was calculated as 122 thousand 653 tons.

Total refinery petroleum products production with other fuel types decreased by 20.53% and became 2 million 810 thousand 200 tons.
