It was announced that the scope of quota application for unprocessed gold imports has been expanded.
In the statement made by Borsa Istanbul, it was reminded that with the announcement titled “Regulations Regarding Gold Imports”, it was stated that a quota would be applied to the import of unprocessed gold on a member basis until a second decision of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
In the statement stating that the scope of the quota was expanded, “As a result of the evaluations made by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the scope of the quota in question was increased. As of 22.09.2023, gold imports carried out under GTIP codes 7108.11.00.00.00, 7108.13.10.00.00, 7108.13.80.00.00, 7112.91.00.00.00 will also be included to Customs Tariff Statistics Position (GTIP) code 7108.12.00.00.12 for non-standard unwrought gold and 7108.12.00.00.13 for standard unwrought gold.”
The statement also noted that, therefore, gold imports carried out by Borsa Istanbul under GTIP codes 7108.11.00.00.00, 7108.13.10.00.00, 7108.13.80.00.00, 7112.91.00.00.00 as of September 22, 2023 should be reported to the Stock Exchange in writing.
