TIM participated in TEKNOFEST with its innovation projects

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) participated in the 4th Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST. Workshops such as 3D Printer, Model Satellite, Sensor to Cloud, Wearable Technology, Design Thinking took place at the TIM stand at TEKNOFEST at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

TIM President Ismail Gulle said in a statement on the subject, “We have full faith that our youth will successfully fly the flag of our country in every corner of the world with the domestic and national technologies they produce. Young people will dream and we will make their dreams come true. The recent increase in exports, especially in our Defense and Aviation sector, draws attention. Our industry realized an export of $1 billion 857 million in 155 countries and regions with an increase of 50% in the first 8 months of 2021. With an export of $44 per kilogram, it became the second sector with the highest added value in Turkey. From 2010 to 2020, its exports increased more than 3 times. Turkey now shows that it is on the verge of a strong rise with our UAVs, SIHAs and TIHAs flying in the sky.”

It was noted that the stand of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, which is the only umbrella organization of 61 exporters’ associations, 27 sectors and 100 thousand exporters in Turkey, in the festival attracted great attention. The InovaTIM family, called ‘Innovation Envoys’ under the umbrella of TIM, participated in the 4th TEKNOFEST with special events. More than 100 InovaTIM students from 18 different cities and 26 different universities participated in the organization. Students formed long queues to attend the workshops and trainings held at the TIM booth.

“WE ARE NOW EXPORTING TECHNOLOGY”

Pointing out that TEKNOFEST effectively expresses the country’s assertiveness and successful approach in the field of technology to the participant, TIM Chairman Ismail Gulle said, “The first condition for a country’s self-sufficiency and economic independence in the 21st century is to design, produce and export technology. We should never forget that we cannot guarantee our economic freedom in any field as long as we remain only users of technology. As a requirement of the geopolitical agenda of our geography, we must always be able to defend the survival of our country with our domestic and national technological infrastructure, with our own national technology platforms. Turkey is now in the position of a country that not only uses technology but also can produce it, both modernize and export it. The future is built by those who dream. All these achievements we witnessed at TEKNOFEST today are the result of a dream. Young people will dream and we will make their dreams come true. Today, our country has increased its value-added, innovative, high-tech and branded exports, increased the number of exporters to 100 thousand. Turkey today shows that it is on the verge of a strong rise with our UAVs, SIHAs and TIHAs flying in the skies, with our new projects, our domestic automobile, our national ships, and our defense industry.

“WE SUPPORT MANY PROJECTS FOCUSED ON TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION”

Expressing that as the Turkish Exporters Assembly, they support many initiatives and projects focused on technology, innovation and R&D, Gulle said, “We have full faith that our youth will successfully wave the flag of our country in every corner of the world with the domestic and national technologies they produce. Blending the knowledge he gained here with his own dreams, being involved in the ‘National Technology Move’ initiated for the Turkey of the future should always be the priority of our youth in their education life or career process.”

DEFENSE AND AVIATION SECTOR MADE ITS MARK ON EXPORT

TIM President Gulle also drew attention to Turkey’s success in the Defense and Aviation sector and said:

“Our products that we produce with national means are used in the world. This is reflected in our export figures. Our industry achieved an export of $1 billion 857 million in 155 countries and regions with an increase of 50% in the first 8 months of 2021. The top 5 countries to which we export the most in the Defense and Aviation sector were the USA ($736 million), Azerbaijan ($170 million), the United Arab Emirates ($127 million), Germany ($99 million) and Ukraine ($63 million). Our sector is also the second sector with the highest added value in our country with an export of $44 per kilogram. We foresee that our sector, which has increased more than 3 times from 2010 to 2020, will be one of the leading sectors that will bring Turkey $300 billion in exports.”
