Last year, 43.7% of active enterprises in Turkiye took place in the service sector, and 36.1% in the trade sector.
Turkish Statistical Institute announced the annual industry and service statistics for 2022.
According to the provisional results, 43.7% of the enterprises active in 2022 were in the service sector and 36.1% were in the trade sector.
While the service sector constituted 38.3% of the total employment, the share of the industrial sector in employment was calculated as 28.7%.
The trade sector came first with a share of 43% in turnover. While the turnover share of the service sector, which has the highest number of enterprises and has the highest share of employment, was 15%, the turnover share of the industry sector was recorded as 37.1%.
Manufacturing received the highest value in Turkiye’s overall production value
Last year, the production value was ₺10 trillion 312 billion in manufacturing, ₺2 trillion 381 billion in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution, ₺2 trillion 358 billion in trade, ₺1 trillion 940 billion in transportation and storage, ₺1 trillion 732 billion in construction.
In 2022, 36% of the turnover share was 250 and above size groups, 23.1% was 1-9 size groups, 19.7% was the 10-49 size group and 21.2% was the 50-249 size group. On the other hand, 37.3% of employment is 1-9 size group, 26.7% is 250 and above size group, 19.6% is 10-49 size group and 16.4% is 50-249 size group.
56.4% of enterprises in the manufacturing industry were involved in low-tech activities. Startups in these activities accounted for 51.2% of employment and 35.2% of turnover.
Last year, the number of active enterprises amounted to ₺3 million 784 thousand 760. According to the provisional results, in 2022, turnover was ₺36 trillion 904 billion, production value was ₺22 trillion 13 billion, factor cost added value was ₺5 trillion 606 billion, while total purchases of goods and services were ₺33 trillion 954 billion. Employment amounted to 18 million 648 thousand 27 people.
