Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange performs best, up 0.84%
Major stock exchanges in Asia closed Monday in the positive territory except for Hong Kong.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, added 16.3 points, or 0.52%, to reach 3,180 at 1036GMT.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange performed best, rising 218 points, or 0.84%, to 26,154 points.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, fell 29.4 points, or 0.13%, to 21,830.
China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange climbed 17.8 points, or 0.53%, to close at 3,405 points.
Mainland China and Hong Kong on Monday decided to launch a new “Swap Connect” program after six months, allowing mutual access to interest rate swap trading.
The Indian Sensex benchmark gained 326.8 points, or 0.62%, to end the day at 53,235.
The Singapore index went up by 24.7 points,or 0.80%, to finish at 3,120 points.
