Turkish Statistical Institute announced the foreign trade statistics for December.
Accordingly, the foreign trade deficit increased by 49.3% in December to $6.79 billion.
The external deficit decreased by 7.5% in 2021 to $46.13 billion.
In December, exports increased by 24.9% compared to the same month of the previous year and became $22.28 billion, while imports increased by 29.9% and became $29.07 billion.
In 2021, exports increased by 32.8% compared to the previous year and reached $225.29 billion, while imports increased by 23.6% to $271.42 billion.
EXPORT-IMPORT FEEDBACK INCREASED
While the ratio of exports to imports was 77.3% in 2020, this figure increased to 83% last year.
