TARGET IS 20 THOUSAND PARTICIPANTS

TOBB Turkiye Creative Industries Council President Ata Kavame told the AA correspondent that representatives from the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Trade, Industry and Technology and National Education will attend the summit. Kavame said, “In addition, the summit, which will include prominent names in this field, from young people to public and private sector representatives, from academics to research company officials, is not held in this size in the world.”

Stating that they expect 1500 people to physically participate in the event daily, Kavame stated that they expect this number to reach 20 thousand at the end of the program with the contribution of online live broadcasts.

Kavame informed that the role of the public in the creative industries and the importance of copyrights will be discussed in the first panel on April 26, and said, “Copyrights are associated with cinema and music, but other fields where copyrights are included, such as advertising and fine arts, are very important. We want to regulate these fields with copyrights as well.”

“WE AIM TO CARRY ABROAD TO TURKIYE IN THE FUTURE YEARS”

Pointing out that B2B and G2B meetings will be held at the summit, Kavame explained that company representatives will have the opportunity to communicate directly with public authorities, and mutual solution suggestions will be offered for the needs in the sector.

Kavame stated that they aim to make this first summit permanent and said:

“We want to turn the program into a 3-day fair in Istanbul, and to organize a global summit and fair where the public, non-governmental organizations and sector representatives can open stands and work with each other. We also aim to move abroad to Turkiye in the coming years. Because the cinema, music, advertising industry and game producers in Turkiye have a serious place in the world. We want to make the summit permanent in order to consolidate our place, show our role in the world and strengthen our authority.”

“YOUNG PEOPLE WILL ALSO MAKE THEIR VOICE HEARD”

Emphasizing that the factors needed in building the future of the creative industries will be discussed at the summit, Kavame stated that 20 promising young people in this field will also be speakers.

Kavame pointed out that the movie “Scene of Colorful Dreams” will also be screened and said that this movie is a short documentary of the project, which includes various activities from theater plays to street performances, in which 7,500 children participated in the earthquake zone for two months.

Pointing out that the Turkic Republics Creative Industries Potential Panel to be held within the scope of the summit is also important, Kavame said, “We observe that this field is not explored enough in the Turkic republics. Turkiye is ahead in this sense. We want to explain the importance of creative industries with our sister countries and share the knowledge we have gained in this field and the problems we have overcome.”

PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GIVEN AN “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE” EXPERIENCE

Kavame stated that “Turkiye’s Creative Atlas Panel” will be held on the second day of the event and that work is being carried out to create an atlas containing important details in this field. Turkiye’s creative atlas will reveal creative studies on a provincial basis, the companies that are included in the creative economy in those provinces, the employment of these companies and the values they produce, the number of graduates in the sector and how long the graduates stay in that city. We also dream of creating an atlas that includes detailed information such as the support local governments give to the field, which province performs better in which creative industries.”

Kavame also informed that the participants of the summit will experience artificial intelligence with the “SEYYAH” project implemented by the artist Gokhan Dogan, known by the pseudonym “Badqode” on social media, and said:

“Participants will also be able to see a digital art exhibition where they can walk through the motifs and patterns produced by Anatolian civilizations that lived in Turkiye and guide the works. Viewers will be able to turn into time and culture travelers by interacting with the works published on LED screens.”
