An important cooperation has been signed for the Karapinar Solar Power Plant

An important cooperation has been signed for the Konya Karapinar Solar Power Plant, one of the world’s largest solar power plants implemented by Kalyon Energy. GE Renewable Energy has agreed to supply Flexinverter technology to Kalyon Energy’s 1.3 gigawatt solar power plants. Within the scope of the cooperation, GE Renewable Energy will supply the Flexinverter solar energy technology of the 270-megawatt Karapinar Phase 2-A and 810-megawatt Karapinar Phase 2-B solar power plants in Turkey. The said cooperation covers the processes of design, engineering, project and site management, and commissioning. The project, which has been implemented in the Karapinar district of Konya, is planned to be put into commercial operation until December 2022. GE Renewable Energy has also completed the installation of Flexinverter solar technology for the 267-megawatt Karapinar Phase 1 solar power plant. In GE’s first projects outside the US to apply this technology, the company will ensure that assembly structures and DC cables are produced locally in Turkey. GE Renewable Energy’s production facility in Gebze will also produce the transformers necessary for integration in the solar inverter system. In the statement, it was pointed out that the technology in question is reliable for grid-scale solar and storage applications.
