Turkish company Bozankaya has won a tram tender in Italy

The manufacturer secured the contract to supply 10 low-floor bidirectional trams to Naples, Italy, with an option for an additional 10 units, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Japanese company Hitachi Rail, a participant in the bid, had previously supplied the city with 22 three-section trams of the Sirio model between 2004 and 2006.

Bozankaya, known for its five-section battery-powered model, offered to fulfill the order for €63 million, a 13.2% reduction from the initial purchase price.

The contract signing is expected after the appeal period concludes, with deliveries scheduled from June 2025 to November 2026.

Bozankaya’s bid includes trams based on the same platform used in Kayseri,Antalya, and other Turkish cities, featuring bidirectional five-section vehicles measuring 33 meters in length and accommodating up to 300 passengers, including 66 seated positions.
