The credit volume of the banking sector was ₺11 trillion 736 billion last week

The credit volume of the banking sector decreased by ₺13 billion 993 million last week, falling to ₺11 trillion 736 billion 174 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the sector’s credit volume decreased by ₺13 billion 993 million as of January 19.

In the said period, total credit volume decreased from ₺11 trillion 750 billion 166 million to ₺11 trillion 736 billion 174 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, increased by ₺2 billion 493 million last week. Total deposits reached ₺15 trillion 35 billion 468 million.

The amount of consumer loans decreased to ₺1 trillion 514 billion

The amount of consumer loans decreased by ₺11 billion 390 million to ₺1 trillion 513 billion 980 million as of January 19. Of these loans, ₺436 billion 635 million consisted of housing loans, ₺94 billion 9 million of vehicle loans and ₺983 billion 336 million of consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺7 billion 955 million and reached ₺1 trillion 408 billion 703 million.

Banks’ individual credit card receivables decreased by 1.7% to ₺1 trillion 174 billion 348 million. Of the individual credit card receivables, ₺517 billion 462 million were installment debts and ₺656 billion 887 million were non-installment debts.

Legal equities increased

As of January 19, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by ₺1 billion 13 million compared to the previous week, reaching ₺194 billion 215 million. Special provisions were allocated for ₺156 billion 873 million of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by ₺32 billion 72 million and reached ₺2 trillion 494 billion 238 million.
