AgroExpo Fair brought together participants from 80 countries

AgroExpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, which is Turkey’s largest and one of Europe’s four largest agricultural fairs, brought together participants from 80 countries, while Aegean Exporters’ Associations brought together 40 importers from 8 countries and our agricultural exporters in the “Exporters Committee Organization”.

For the AgroExpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, which is expected to provide an added value of $1 billion to Turkish agriculture, to the Exporters Committee Organization organized under the Coordination of the Ministry of Trade, importers from Bahrain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cameroon, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Moldova and Niger participated. The Exporters Committee Organization witnessed more than a hundred bilateral business meetings. Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of Aegean Exporters’ Associations, stated that $2 billion 21 million of the $6 billion 100 million of exports realized by Aegean Exporters’ Associations in the January-May period of 2021 was made by the agricultural sectors. He noted that the agricultural sector received a 33% share from the exports of Aegean Exporters’ Associations.

TARGET IS $5.5 BILLION

Explaining that they aim to export $5.5 billion of agricultural products for the end of 2021, Eskinazi said, “In order to achieve this goal, fairs are very effective marketing activities. We see fairs as a showcase where our agricultural products will be introduced to the world. After the pandemic, the world wishes to quickly return to its old routine. This is why there is great interest in the AgroExpo Fair. Our bilateral business meetings were very productive. We will continue our marketing activities to increase the export of agricultural products in the Aegean Region. Fisheries and animal products sector contributed $468 million to the $2 billion 21 million export of agricultural products of Aegean Exporters’ Associations in January – May 2021 period. Exports of fresh fruit, vegetable and products sector amounted to $342.5 million and dried fruit exports to $300 million. These sectors were followed by the tobacco industry with exports of $246 million, and the grains, pulses and oilseeds industry with $234.6 million of foreign sales. Olive and olive oil sector contributed $65 million and non-wood forest products $46 million to the export of agricultural products of the Aegean Region.

OPENED WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE MINISTER PAKDEMIRLI

At the opening ceremony of the AgroExpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, which was opened with the participation of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli, Aegean Exporters’ Unions Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi, EIB Coordinator Vice President Birol Celep, Hayrettin Ucak, President of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, and Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association President Davut Er, EIB Secretary-General I. Cumhur Isbirakmaz were among the attendees.
