Turkiye: Domestic Markets Anticipate Key Data Releases

All eyes are on the intense data agenda release in domestic markets. The Ministry of Commerce will announce April export figures in the first days of May. TurkStat will share inflation data for April with the public on May 3.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) will share April economic confidence index data with the public today. While the index was 99 in February, it increased by 1% to 100 in March.

On the last day of this month, the institution will also announce foreign trade statistics and service producer price index for March and tourism statistics for the first quarter of the year. Tourism revenue increased by 6.8% in the 4th quarter of 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $12 billion 272 million 673 thousand.

Export figures will be announced

The Ministry of Commerce will also announce April export figures in the first days of May. Minister of Commerce Omer Bolat, in his evaluation of March data, said, “Our exports amounted to $22 billion 578 million in March. The figures in January and February show that the monthly export increase continues.”

Inflation data will be announced on May 3

TurkStat will share inflation data for April with the public on Friday, May 3. The consumer price index increased by 3.16% and the domestic producer price index increased by 3.29% on a monthly basis in March. Annual inflation was 68.5% in consumer prices and 51.47% in domestic producer prices.
