More than 600 companies from 30 countries participated in SAHA EXPO, organized by SAHA Istanbul, Turkey’s largest industrial cluster, on 10-13 November.
In addition to exhibiting products and capabilities at the fair, numerous business meetings were held for 4 days. Within the scope of SAHA EXPO, 31 contracts, agreements and protocols were signed. The economic equivalent of these signatures was calculated as approximately $123.5 million.
Baykar signed many agreements regarding the equipment to be used in the unmanned warplane (Combat Unmanned Aircraft System-MİUS), Bayraktar Akinci Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, and Bayraktar TB2 Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle at the fair.
Accordingly, the AI-322F engine, produced jointly by Ukrainian Ivchenko Progress and Motor Sich, will be used in the unmanned warplane developed by Baykar, which exports a large number of Bayraktar TB2 SİHAs to Ukraine. An alternative will be created for Bayraktar Akinci Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle by integrating Motor Sich’s MS500 Turboprop Engine.
In addition to the delivery contracts for the mini smart munitions MAM-L and MAM-C, an order contract for the CATS electro-optical sensor system was signed between Baykar and ASELSAN.
Agreements and contracts were signed regarding subsystems such as composite manufacturing, generator, aerial and ground data link antenna systems, and trailers for the aircraft manufactured by Baykar.
Within the scope of “ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System Cooperation Agreements”, one of the weapon systems developed recently within the Turkish defense industry, cooperation agreements were signed with companies including Anova R&D Technologies, Meteksan Defense and Ermaksan.
HAVELSAN, on the other hand, went into various collaborations for the development of software solutions and combat systems using unmanned air/ground vehicles. In this context, the groundwork has been laid for the projects and studies planned to be launched in the near future within the scope of integrating the High Power Laser System developed by TUBITAK BILGEM into the unmanned land and air vehicles developed by HAVELSAN and Asisguard.
HAVELSAN signed a goodwill agreement with Bilge Adam Teknoloji, ETIYA and BILIN Yazılım for the business model for the Kovan domestic enterprise resource planning (ERP) product family.
