Foreign trade volume with Turkish lira reached ₺349.5 billion in the first half of the year

Foreign trade volume with Turkish lira increased by 129.3% in the first half of the year compared to the same period of the previous year and reached ₺349 billion 488 million.

According to the compilation made by the AA correspondent from the Ministry of Commerce data, while the foreign trade volume decreased by 14.1% last month to $47 billion 198 million, it reached $308 billion 172 million with an increase of 1.7% in the January-June period.

Foreign trade with the Turkish lira also followed a course parallel to the developments in Turkiye’s foreign trade volume.

Accordingly, while exports in Turkish lira were ₺14 billion 745 million, imports were ₺30 billion 738 million, foreign trade volume increased to ₺45 billion 483 million.

Turkiye’s exports in February fell to $ 18.6 billion with a decrease of 6.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, due to the effect of earthquakes in Kahramanmaras. In the same month, exports in Turkish lira decreased to ₺13 billion 863 million. Imports in Turkish lira were recorded as ₺40 billion 364 million and foreign trade volume as ₺54 billion 227 million in this period.

The recovery in exports in March was also reflected in exports in Turkish lira. In March, the said export amounted to ₺18 billion 49 million. In this period, while the amount of imports in Turkish lira was ₺45 billion 755 million, the foreign trade volume increased to ₺63 billion 805 million.

While the negative impact of the earthquakes on foreign sales continued in April, exports decreased by 17.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to $19.3 billion. In the said month, exports decreased to ₺14 billion 611 million, imports to ₺43 billion 123 million, and foreign trade volume to ₺57 billion 734 million in Turkish lira.

Exports in Turkish lira increased to ₺16 billion 331 million in May. In this period, while the amount of imports in Turkish lira was ₺49 billion 479 million, the foreign trade volume reached ₺65 billion 810 million.

Despite the decline in exports in June, exports continued to increase with the Turkish lira. Exports increased by 71% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and were recorded as ₺16 billion 981 million. In this period, imports in Turkish lira amounted to ₺45 billion 449 million.

Foreign trade volume with Turkish lira increased by 94% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached ₺62 billion 430 million.

In the January-June period, exports in Turkish lira increased by 86.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching ₺94 billion 580 million. In this period, imports in Turkish lira were recorded as ₺254 billion 908 million.

In the first half of the year, the foreign trade volume with Turkish lira was calculated as ₺349 billion 488 million, an increase of 129.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
