Aegean Exporters’ Associations’ exports to South Korea increased by 102%

It was reported that exports to South Korea by Aegean Exporters’ Associations increased by 102% in the first 6 months of this year compared to the same period of the previous year, to $44.8 million.

In the statement made by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, it was stated that the Association participated in the Korea Imported Products Fair, which is the only import fair of South Korea.

It was reported that olive and olive oil, dried figs, seedless raisins, dried apricots, cereals, pulses, oil seeds, confectionery, fruit and vegetable products, frozen food products, canned food, spices, non-wood forest products, ready-made clothing and apparel, leather and leather products were exhibited in the stand established at the fair.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chairman Jak Eskinazi, whose evaluations are included in the statement, stated that there is a Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and the Republic of Korea, and that the historical friendship between the two countries creates a suitable climate for the development of foreign trade.

Noting that Aegean Exporters’ Associations’ exports to South Korea increased by 102% in the January-June period of this year, from $22.2 million to $44.8 million, Eskinazi said:

“We are carrying out the TURQUALITY Project with the support of the Ministry of Commerce to increase the recognition of food products, which the Aegean Region is strong in exports, in South Korea and to improve their exports. With the project, we want to improve our exports of seedless raisins, dried figs, dried apricots, fruit and vegetable products, olives and olive oil, spices, non-wood forest products, stone fruits, cereals, pulses and oil seeds, which we are strong in exporting from the Aegean Region. Korea Imported Products Fair offers us great opportunities in this sense.”
