83% increase in exports from Trabzon to African Countries

Exports from Trabzon to African countries in the 9-month period covering January-September 2021 reached $9 million 325 thousand 847 with an increase of 83%.

In the first 9 months of 2021, exports from Trabzon to 24 African countries increased by 83%, amounting to $9 million 325 thousand 847.

The first 3 African countries to which Trabzon exports the most were the Republic of South Africa, Tunisia and Egypt. The highest increase from Trabzon was experienced in exports to Mauritania and Egypt. The most exported products from Trabzon to African countries were listed as hazelnuts, defense industry products, vehicle spare parts and machinery.

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKIB), made a written statement on the subject. He stated that there has been a rapid development in exports from Trabzon to African countries, which have a very important potential in terms of exports, where there is a great interest in Turkish goods and where there is a great favor towards Turkey.

Stating that Turkish exporters have succeeded in entering these markets effectively, Kalyoncu said that they believe that exports to this region will reach much higher figures.
