Banking sector loan volume was ₺9 trillion 635.2 billion last week

The credit volume of the banking sector increased by ₺373 billion 685 million last week and reached ₺9 trillion 635 billion 198 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the loan volume of the sector increased by ₺373 billion 685 million as of June 9th. In the said period, the total loan volume increased from ₺9 trillion 261 billion 513 million to ₺9 trillion 635 billion 198 million.

Total deposits (including interbank) in the banking sector increased by ₺526 billion 170 million last week. The total deposits of the banking sector, which increased by 5.0% in the week in question, became ₺10 trillion 947 billion 263 million.

Consumer loans became ₺1 trillion 373 billion 548 million

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans increased by ₺7 billion 287 million as of June 9 to ₺1 trillion 373 billion 548 million. ₺436 billion 147 million of the said loans consisted of housing loans, ₺80 billion 585 million for vehicles and ₺856 billion 816 million for consumer loans.

In the said period, the amount of commercial installment loans increased by ₺34 billion 514 million to ₺1 trillion 153 billion 60 million. Banks’ personal credit card receivables increased by ₺11 billion 233 million to ₺732 billion 656 million. ₺381 billion 97 million of personal credit card receivables were in installments, and ₺351 billion 559 million were without installments.

Legal equity increased

According to the BRSA weekly data, NPLs in the banking sector increased by ₺352 million compared to the previous week and reached ₺166 billion 491 million as of June 9th. A special provision has been made for ₺144 billion 109 million of the aforementioned non-performing loans.

In the same period, legal equities in the banking system increased by ₺3 billion 174 million and reached ₺1 trillion 914 billion 545 million.
