SSH completes work on 789-bed Kuwait maternity hospital

SSH, a leading project management company, said it has completed the work on the New Maternity Hospital, one of the largest healthcare projects in the region.

A state-of-the-art specialist maternity hospital, it is aimed at servicing the growing healthcare needs of Kuwait and the GCC on an international scale by bringing together all aspects of maternity care into a single complex, said a statement from SSH.

The expansive 789-bed hospital comprises three towering structures positioned atop a dense clinical podium. Adjacent to these are the outpatient clinical buildings, a 1,200-car multi-storey parking lot,and a multi-level entry atrium.

Nestled along the Kuwait Bay coast within the Al-Sabah Health Zone, the project boasts a breath-taking 360,000-sq-m site with a captivating connection to the sea, it stated.

SSH expressed delight at having worked with Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A. and Studio Aliteri as a key stakeholder delivering architecture, landscaping, interior design, MEP, seawall and façade designs on this new medical landmark in Kuwait.

Notably 70% of the in-patient rooms within the hospital offer stunning views of the adjacent bay and coastline, stated the project management expert.

Due to its proximity to the bay, the hospital features a substantial sea wall a water breaker spanning 320 m along the shoreline, an integral component of its eco-friendly design, it added.
