431 thousand tourists came to Pamukkale in the first 5 months of 2022

In Pamukkale, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the number of visitors in the first 5 months of this year was recorded as 431 thousand 83, leaving behind the same period of last year.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, 127 thousand 870 people visited the world-famous white travertines in the first 5 months of last year. In the same period of this year, this figure was 431 thousand 83.

Pamukkale hosted 190,200 local and foreign tourists in May alone. Last year, 38 thousand 378 tourists visited Pamukkale in May.

Gazi Murat Sen, President of Denizli Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association, said that after the decrease in Covid-19 cases, the region revived.

Expressing that those who could not go on vacation due to the epidemic started to travel a lot with normalization, Sen said:

“These numbers show us that we can easily meet the 2 million tourist target we set at the beginning of the year. We hope to have a season like 2019 in Pamukkale and even surpass the 2019 figures. As tourism professionals, these numbers started to make us smile.”
