388 flights per week from THY to holiday regions to help tourism

Turkish Airlines (THY) will make a great contribution to the sector with its tourism-oriented flights in the summer season. THY aims to make Turkey the tourism center of the region by organizing 388 weekly direct flights from Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum-Milas and Izmir to 47 cities in 29 countries.

THY Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat said, “Our touristic destinations are the center of attraction of the region with their unique natural beauties and reliable tourism standards. The flight demands we receive from all over the world continue to increase as the summer season approaches. As the flag carrier airline, we aim to bring foreign tourists who want to travel to Turkey to the south of our country with direct flights from their countries and the comfort of Turkish Airlines. We will make an important contribution to our country’s economy while proudly flying our flag with our direct flights.”

DEMAND IS TOO HIGH

THY, which prepares its flight plans by analyzing the travel demands of passengers, will organize a record number of tourism-oriented flights in the summer of 2022, with the increasing interest of foreign tourists in Turkey and the relaxation of travel restrictions by countries. Standing out as the most successful year before the epidemic, THY organized 83 frequency flights to 30 destinations in the summer of 2019, and is planning 140 frequency direct flights to 38 destinations in the same period this year. AnadoluJet, which started its international flights as of 2020, will carry tourists from 39 destinations abroad to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and Aegean with 248 weekly flights this summer. The United Kingdom, Germany, Lebanon and Russia stand out in the high demand from travel agencies and passengers for the summer period.
