Accommodation and travel technologies startup HotelRunner acquired the smart sales system PayPad

HotelRunner announced that it acquired PayPad, a high-level sales system that we know well with Veysel Berk, and renamed it as HotelRunner POS.

HotelRunner, a provider of accommodation and travel technologies, announced that it acquired PayPad, a high-end sales system, and renewed it as HotelRunner POS.

PayPad, a cloud-based, intelligent sales system designed specifically for restaurants, hotels and retail stores, was founded in 2016. The company has also expanded its activities to the global market, with a customer base extending to the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States and Turkiye. This strategic acquisition is an important step in HotelRunner’s mission to provide a comprehensive, all-in-one solution focused specifically on hotels’ on-site sales and payments.

With its new and improved identity, HotelRunner POS promises an easy and effective platform to manage food and beverage operations and offers accommodation facilities a new way to improve their revenue streams. Working fully integrated with the HotelRunner hotel management system (HotelRunner PMS), HotelRunner POS enables accommodation facilities to easily manage their on-site sales and payment operations. With PayPad, hoteliers can accept payments via multiple methods, analyze every aspect of their business and automate their operations with artificial intelligence-supported data, thus increasing their efficiency and profitability. With the inclusion of HotelRunner POS in the HotelRunner platform, the company is making a significant transformation by focusing on on-site sales operations for the first time, thus once again emphasizing its sales-first approach in accommodation and travel technologies.

HotelRunner completed a successful Series A investment round in January 2023 and stated that this financing would be used to strengthen the company’s presence around the world, expand its team and continue its advanced technology investments. Standing by its commitment, the company continued to move towards its goal of providing a holistic platform supported by innovative technology by launching important product launches such as Insights, Autopilot and Review Center last year. This important step stands out as the third acquisition in HotelRunner’s company acquisition series, which aims to unite the industry under its own umbrella and expand its product range to serve the diverse needs of its business partners.

Regarding the acquisition, HotelRunner Founding Partner Arden Agopyan said;

“Our strategic acquisition of PayPal and the launch of HotelRunner POS is not only about enhancing our product offering, it is also a bold step towards our vision of creating a greater travel economy. As we integrate HotelRunner POS into our broader ecosystem as a fundamental building block, we are solidifying our presence in the payment and sales vertical in the travel and hospitality industry. We are proud to shape the path towards unification of the industry and to start a brand new era by strengthening our brand.”

HotelRunner’s Founding Partner Ali Beklen said;

“With PayPad, which integrates seamlessly into HotelRunner’s unique network, we are leading the technology revolution that forms the cornerstone of a unified, digital travel ecosystem. Beyond enhancing the guest experience and optimizing operational efficiency for properties, this strategic move underscores the power of all-in-one, end-to-end systems on the path to success. “This acquisition brings with it new untapped opportunities for the industry, paving the way for us to offer unique added value and pioneering innovations for our business partners.”

Veysel Berk, Founder of PayPad, also shared his thoughts about the acquisition:

“HotelRunner is democratizing the use of technology for every player in its worldwide ecosystem. We are excited to join forces with HotelRunner and be a part of its grand vision, as both teams share the same values, culture, and product principles. PayPad, rebranded as HotelRunner POS, will play a significant role in adding great value to properties around the world and usher in the era of advanced sales solutions in the travel and hospitality industry.”
