150 thousand 509 houses were sold in Turkiye in June

In Turkiye, 150 thousand 509 houses were sold in June. The number of houses sold in June increased by 11.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the house sales statistics for June.

Housing sales across Turkiye increased by 11.7% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and became 150 thousand 509.

Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 27,998 house sales and 18.6%. According to the number of sales, Istanbul was followed by 13 thousand 303 house sales and 8.8% share, Ankara with 8 thousand 243 house sales and 5.5% share.

The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 40 houses, Ardahan with 44 houses and Bayburt with 90 houses, respectively.

Housing sales in the January-June period increased by 31.4% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 726 thousand 398.

Mortgage housing sales amounted to 40 thousand 610

Mortgaged house sales across Turkiye increased by 40.6% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and became 40 thousand 610. The share of mortgaged sales in total housing sales was 27.0%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-June period, on the other hand, increased by 63.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 170 thousand 317.

11 thousand 229 of the mortgaged sales in June and 43 thousand 114 of the mortgaged sales in the January-June period were first hand sales.

With other sales types, 109 thousand 899 houses changed hands

Other house sales in Turkiye increased by 3.8% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and became 109 thousand 899. The share of other sales in total house sales was 73.0%. The other house sales realized in the January-June period, on the other hand, increased by 23.9% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 556 thousand 81.

The number of first-hand housing sales was 44 thousand 732

The number of first-hand house sales in Turkiye increased by 11.6% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and became 44 thousand 732. The share of first hand house sales in total house sales was 29.7%. In the January-June period, the first hand house sales increased by 24.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 208 thousand 451.

105,777 houses changed hands in second-hand house sales

Second-hand house sales across Turkiye increased by 11.8% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and became 105 thousand 777. The share of second-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 70.3%. Second-hand house sales in the January-June period increased by 34.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 517 thousand 947.

8 thousand 630 houses were sold to foreigners in June

Housing sales to foreigners increased by 81.8% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and became 8,630. In June, the share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 5.7%. In the housing sales to foreigners, Istanbul took the first place with the sales of 3 thousand 906 houses. Antalya was followed by Antalya with 2 thousand 534 sales and Mersin with 428 sales, respectively.

In the January-June period, house sales to foreigners increased by 72.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 35 thousand 383.

According to the nationality of the country, the most house sales were made to the citizens of the Russian Federation.

In June, citizens of the Russian Federation bought 1,887 houses from Turkiye. Citizens of the Russian Federation were followed by Iran with 987 residences and Iraqi citizens with 807 residences, respectively.
