Turkish salmon was exported to 18 countries from the Eastern Black Sea

21 thousand 890 tons of Turkish salmon were exported to 18 countries from the Eastern Black Sea region in the first 10 months of the year.

Turkish salmon exports from the Eastern Black Sea in the 10 months of the year reached $133 million 220 thousand 467, an increase of 44% compared to the same period last year.

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, said that 21 thousand 890 tons of Turkish salmon were exported from the region to 18 countries.

Stating that $133 million 220 thousand 467 of income was obtained from this export, Kalyoncu noted that exports increased by 69% in amount and 44% in value compared to the same period of the previous year, when $92 million 503 thousand 821 were earned in return for 12 thousand 936 tons of Turkish salmon.

Kalyoncu pointed out that the Russian Federation is the leader in Turkish salmon exports and said, “Turkish salmon was sold from our region to 18 countries in 10 months of the year. Russian Federation, Vietnam and Belarus were the 3 countries where the most salmon was sold. During this period, salmon worth $94 million 826 thousand 603 were exported to the Russian Federation, $25 million 423 thousand 215 to Vietnam and $5 million 205 thousand 302 to Belarus.”

Pointing out that $86 million 984 thousand 780 of the region’s exports were carried out from Trabzon, Kalyoncu said:

“This period, 14 thousand 87 tons of salmon were exported from our city to 11 countries, especially Russia, Vietnam and Thailand. In the same period last year, $52 million 825 thousand 188 were earned from 7 thousand 87 tons of salmon exports. In this context, Turkish salmon exports from Trabzon increased by 99% in quantity and 65% in value compared to the same period last year.”

Kalyoncu stated that he has high expectations from Turkish salmon and asked for efforts to increase production and exports in this context.
