$1 billion 365 million exported from the Eastern Black Sea Region in 11 months

Exports from 4 provinces in the Eastern Black Sea Region in the January-November period reached $1 billion 365 million 919 thousand .

In a written statement, Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKIB), stated that the exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gumushane in the 11 months of 2021 increased by 15% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $1 billion 365 million 919 thousand 153. Kalyoncu stated that the exports from Trabzon reached $1 billion 75 million 77 thousand 907 with an increase of 12% compared to the previous year. He said that in the 11-month period, exports increased by 73% to $61 million 361 thousand 124 in Gumushane, and exports from Rize increased to $178 million 827 thousand 936 with an increase of 28%.

Pointing out that $722 million 10 thousand of exports in the 11-month period are hazelnuts and their products, Kalyoncu stated that $193 million 911 thousand exports are composed of fresh fruit and vegetable products, $156 million 668 thousand of mineral and metal products, $97 million 138 thousand of aquaculture and livestock products, $41 million 914 thousand of the automotive industry, $22 million 793 thousand of the defense industry. Stating that the sector with the highest export growth rate was the defense industry with 69%, Kalyoncu said that there was an increase of 56% in the exports of the automotive industry and 43% in the metals industry.

Pointing out that exports were made to 133 countries from the Eastern Black Sea Region in the 11 months of this year, Kalyoncu said, “The first 5 countries are Italy, Russian Federation, Germany, People’s Republic of China and Georgia, and there has been an increase in exports in all of these countries.”
