$1.3 billion of “bus-minibus-midibus” exports were made from Turkey to 83 countries

The export of “bus-minibus-midibus”, one of the sub-product groups of the automotive industry, was $1.3 billion last year.

According to the information obtained from the Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OIB), $1 billion 266 million 255 thousand buses, minibuses and midibuses were sent from Turkey to 83 countries last year.

The country to which the sector exported the most in this product group last year was France. Exports of “bus-minibus-midibus” to France increased by 16.48% last year compared to 2020, from $286 million 772 thousand to $334 million 22 thousand.

Exports to Germany, which ranks second, decreased by 37% compared to 2020 and decreased from $264 million 758 thousand to $164 million 361 thousand.

The exports of the sector representatives to Italy, which ranks third, were $131 million 927 thousand in 2020, while in 2021 it was recorded as $86 million 278 thousand with a decrease of 34%.

Exports of “bus-minibus-midibus” to France, Germany and Italy last year constituted 46% of the total foreign sales of this group.

133% INCREASE IN BUS EXPORTS TO ISRAEL

Last year’s “bus-minibus-midibus” export to Israel, which ranks fourth, increased by 133% compared to 2020. Exports to this country, which was $36 million 380 thousand in 2020, increased to $85 million 79 thousand in 2021.

Georgia, where $51 million 977 thousand of bus exports were made in the previous year, was registered as the fifth country in 2021 with an increase of 25% and an export of $65 million 4 thousand.

During this period, $56 million 66 thousand were sent to Hungary, $39 million 527 thousand to Azerbaijan-Nakhichevan, $34 million 719 thousand to Romania, $31 million 884 thousand to Serbia, $28 million 667 thousand were sent to Portugal, $27 million 786 thousand were sent to Greece in buses, minibuses and midibuses.

On the other hand, last year, products were sent to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Cameroon, Taiwan, Cape Verde, Tanzania, Togo, Senegal, Somalia and Sudan, which were not exported in 2020.
