₺215 million net profit from Halkbank in 9 months

Halkbank achieved a net profit of ₺215 million in the 9 months of the year. Halkbank General Manager Osman Arslan said, “As Halkbank, we continued our contribution to the country’s economy by increasing our total loans to ₺603.1 billion in the third quarter of the year.”

Halkbank announced its financial results for the third quarter of the year. Accordingly, the net profit of the bank was ₺215 million as of the end of September 2021. Halkbank General Manager Osman Arslan, whose views were included in the statement, stated that they provided serious financial support to all sectors, especially tradesmen and SMEs, within the framework of Turkey’s economic policy.

Stating that the loans they extended within the framework of the normalization measures gave the real sector a breath of fresh air, Arslan stated that as Halkbank, they continued their contribution to the country’s economy by increasing the total loans to ₺603.1 billion in the third quarter of the year. Arslan underlined that they are one of the important banks that support the Turkish economy with their asset size reaching ₺724.2 billion.

Drawing attention to the development in total deposits, Arslan stated that they increased their deposits by 21.4 in the third quarter compared to the same period of the previous year, and reached the level of ₺534.8 billion.

₺6.4 BILLION FINANCE TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

Emphasizing that they carried out activities that attracted great attention of the public with the advantageous loans provided to women entrepreneurs and the “Producing Women Meetings” organized in the nine months of the year, Arslan said, “We have offered ₺6.4 billion of financing on favorable terms to 67 thousand women from all over Turkey who are engaged in or are preparing to engage in different business lines. With our work, which has turned into one of the biggest projects that provide tangible benefits to the women entrepreneur ecosystem of our country, we have supported both the elimination of the economic effects of the global epidemic and the acceleration of the economic momentum at the regional level. At the end of the first year, we will continue our project with the goal of reaching 100 thousand entrepreneurs and ₺10 billion loan support, and with the ideal of including our women more in economic life.”

Arslan stated that the studies on women’s entrepreneurship once again showed the importance of Halkbank in terms of access to finance for tradesmen, craftsmen and SMEs.

Stating that Halkbank is one of the biggest supporters of these elements that form the capillaries of the Turkish economy, Arslan said:

“The number of tradesmen and craftsmen who have loan balances in our bank reached 1.2 million this year, and our loan balance reached ₺76.1 billion. We continue our leadership journey at full speed in SME banking, which also includes tradesmen loans. We have a market share of 20.7% in this category with our SME loans reaching ₺205.3 billion.”

Noting that Halkbank was selected as the “Best Bank of the Year” at the global level within the scope of the “International Business Awards” award program and that it achieved great success in the said award program, it brought a total of 7 gold, 12 silver and 1 bronze awards to the country. “In another award program, we were selected as the ‘Best Employer of the Year in the Banking Sector’ in the field of human resources. Our products, services and projects on women’s support received a total of 5 gold awards. These international awards received by our bank have provided a great motivation to all Halkbank employees to develop different and innovative projects with the aim of contributing to the development of Turkey.”
